About ANNEX

Annex is a roguelike ARPG featuring Koko, a young AI trapped inside a forsaken computer.

As Koko awakens for the first time, it quickly becomes clear that the young AI needs to set out to explore the digital environment that it finds itself in - and hopefully survive the encounters with its residents, the Destroware.

Koko will be faced with many hardships, like fighting for survival, searching for the way into the deeper regions of the Realm and confronting the mysteries that lie beyond. Confronting the Destroware, avoiding traps and getting used to the ever changing abilities will not be easy for the young AI.

Key Features

Roguelike Skilltrees - EVOs : ANNEX brings a fresh idea into the roguelike genre. It is built around the idea of a complex skill-tree system. Rather than just giving you an item or an ability, these so-called EVOs will provide you with an entire theme. The Spike-EVO for example might give you the ability to place spiky traps or surround yourself with a reflecting shield while the Music-EVO could potentially turn your run into a rhythm game experience.
Tactical Combat : The combat system revolves around the idea of limited airborne bullets. Expect various factors to shape your unique playstyle. Gain a positional advantage by using cover and take the high ground for increased range. Shoot down enemy projectiles to escape the bullet hell. Discover different enemy types and learn to abuse their behavior. Hone your shooting skills and you will be rewarded for perfect precision.
Multiple regions to explore : The programs of Annex refer to their plane of existence as The Realm, a domain inside a deserted computer. It consists of multiple procedurally generated regions, all with their own challenges, atmosphere and Bosses to overcome.

About the Developer

I dedicated the last two years and all my savings to this passion project. The crowdfunding route was deliberately chosen over responsibilities towards parties that don't have the game's quality as their first priority. My aim is to deliver an immersive gaming experience that truly reflects my creative vision. Valuing the community, I seek to actively involve players in shaping the game together. Through Kickstarter, I plan to raise funds to hire dedicated staff, accelerating development progress and introducing exciting features.
